About Football Japan

Welcome to Football Japan, an in-depth take on the J.League, Nadeshiko and Samurai Blue. On this site you will find you updates from across J.League Divisions 1 and 2, live-blogs of J.League, AFC Champions League and international fixtures, and detailed reporting and tactical analysis on both the league and national team as they attempt to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. As current holders of the FIFA Women’s World Cup following a tense penalty shoot-out victory over the United States, and a men’s national team that defeated Australia to be crowned AFC Asian Cup champions for the first time since 2004 and their fourth title overall, together with a burgeoning array of talent now being recognised at the very highest levels of the game, these are very exciting times for Japanese football, and I look forward to providing you with insights into the beautiful game in the country.

Football Japan will also be home to the world’s first, fully comprehensive listing of all results for the Japan men’s national football team in English, including goalscorers, teams, squads, pictures and video where available, no later than the end of December 2015.  The period for 1917-1954 is now available, and 1955-2015 will follow soon.

Thanks to readers of this site, Football Japan is ranked 1st in the UK and 3rd in the world by Bing, and 2nd in the UK and 5th in the world by Google in J-League related searches, and has a readership spread across 139 countries and territories.
